Interview Simon Kjær

Simon Kjær: "Annoyance, disappointment, I really think we play the match very well, as we expect it at times we come down to a stand, and we are okay with that. And then they come through a few times and then they have a lot of quality. A little more sharpness in the first half in some conversions, then we also score the extra stick that makes it all start to boil. And then of course in the end we are 10 men and it pulls teeth out there, it's tough. But, it's football, it's been a great journey. Of course I´m incredibly sorry it's done now but that's how it is."

"I'm proud, but at the same time I'm also sorry we did not take it all the way to the final."

- Simon Kjær

You mention it a bit yourself here. You have given a lot of smiles on the lips to all the Danes at home. What do you want to remember this European Championship for?

Simon Kjær: "I think quietly when things come at a distance then there are things that come up. It has been hard to take in it all, but it has been a fantastic journey and the support it is... Yes, it is more than I had ever hoped for. So, I'm proud, but at the same time I'm also sorry we did not take it all the way to the final."

Thanks for the journey, Simon.

Many thanks to Randi for the English translation.
