
Simon Kjær has been nominated for Denmark's Football Player of the Year 2021. The other nominees are Piere-Emile Hojbjerg and Joakim Mæhle.
The Male Football Player of the Year is chosen in a collaboration between the Players' Association and DBU and will be
announced during DR's large sports gala show in Herning, Denmark, on 8 January 2022.
Update: Due to Covid the Sport 2021 gala will not be held in Herning on 8 January 2022. According to DR they are "working hard for an alternative".
On January 4, the Danish Channel DR announced: "Sport 2021 will be broadcast on DR1 and DRTV on
Friday 21 January at 9.30 pm instead of - as originally planned - on Saturday 8 January."
