Simon Kjær wearing Denmark women's jersey

Simon Kjær poses in the Denmark women's jersey, which the national team will wear in their next match against Austria. Simon won't play, but was said to be training with the team instead of going on vacation. Why is he wearing the women's jersey? And where is he by the way? Let's have a closer look at what's going on with our favourite captain.

On May 30, 2022, Simon Kjær was reunited with the Danish national team after his long lasting knee injury. The beard bet came to an end. And there was a surprise visit of Queen Margrethe of Denmark.

Simon Kjær and the women's jersey

The Danish football foundation DBU announced that the Danish national team will be wearing the women's jersey during their next match against Austria on June 13, 2022. "There is no doubt that we are incredibly proud of the Danish women's national team, and therefore we also think that they deserve to be praised. In our eyes, they are just as big stars as the men", said DBU.

The jersey is produced by DBU's clothing sponsor hummel, that posted on Twitter a picture of Simon Kjær posing for their campaign.

Simon Kjær photoshoot

We fully understand that they asked Simon Kjær to pose for the photoshoot, because he is of course the best-looking footballer. His hair and well-shaved beard look quite similar to the pictures with the Queen, so it is very likely that the photos were taken on the same day or so.

Where is Simon Kjær?

After being reunited with the Danish national team, we expected two weeks of Simon Kjær to make up for six months of nothing. In one interview manager Kasper Hjulmand said: "Simon has come to extend his season a bit and train with us, so he can get two weeks of really good training. He might as well have been quiet on a vacation, but he would rather be here."

But that's not exactly what happened. It is a bit of a mystery where Simon Kjær is right now, because after three days of training with the Danish team, he disappeared more or less. We're looking forward to seeing him soon again.
